is making sure that he’s 100% fit before he returns to the octagon again. He was knocked out by Anthony Pettis in March this year and had to serve a mandatory 60-day UFC suspension as a result. Initially scheduled to fight at UFC Greenville on June 22, Thompson was unsure he could get a proper training camp completed.
The UFC returns to New York on November 2nd for UFC 244, which Thompson has admitted he’d love to be a part of. Thompson is keen to fight any of the top 5 Welterweight contenders, specifically calling out dos Anjos, Ponzinibbio, and Till.
Bieber Challenges Cruise to Octagon Fight
With no UFC event this weekend, a major development has been the desire of Justin Bieber to fight Tom Cruise. Bieber challenged Cruise on twitter on Sunday night, openly asking for help in staging and promoting the fight. As always, Conor McGregor popped out of the woodwork to offer his assistance.
The ‘retired’ McGregor claimed that McGregor Sports and Entertainment could host the bout, even challenging Mark Wahlberg to a fight on that very same card. We haven’t heard an official response from Cruise yet, but I’d say this fight is rather unlikely to occur.
Ferguson Looks Ready for Title Shot
After a dominant win over Donald Cerrone on the weekend, Tony Ferguson has well and truly deserved a title shot. In all likelihood, his next opponent will be the winner of Khabib vs Poirier, Which is set to take place in September.
The timing is unfortunately not on his side, with a potential bout unlikely to take place until at least early 2020. Having now registered 12 straight impressive wins, I’m not sure anyone wants a part of Ferguson in this form.
