Assuncao vs Sandhagen Set for UFC 241

Despite no UFC event this weekend, moves are being made to improve some of the upcoming cards. The most notable of these is the scheduled bout between Raphael Assuncao and Cory Sandhagen to take place at UFC 241. Sandhagen has won each of his last 6 fights and is an impressive 4-0 in the UFC.

Assuncao is also a storied UFC veteran, sporting an 11-3 record in 8 years with the company. These are two definite contenders at Bantamweight, who are likely just a win or two away from a title shot.

Sage Northcutt Getting Better in Hospital

Sage Northcutt’s ONE Championship debut didn’t go to plan last week. He was brutally knocked out inside the first minute and was taken to hospital to repair 8 facial fractures. He shared an update on his Instagram that he is recovering well and should be on his way home soon.

With some of the impressive acquisitions they’ve made this year, the ONE Championship definitely has the potential to rival the UFC in the coming years. To do so, they’ll need their marquee names like Sage Northcutt to be fit and firing.

Aspen Ladd Targets Yana Kunitskaya

After an impressive win over Sijara Eubanks last time out, Aspen Ladd is already planning out her next fight. She wants to visit Australia and has identified Yana Kunitskaya as her ideal opponent. A former Invicta champion, Ladd is now 8-0 in her MMA career and 3-0 in the UFC.

Kunitskaya is certainly no slouch either, sporting a 12-4 MMA record and a 2-1 history in the UFC. The Rumored event for this fight to take place would be at UFC 243, where Rob Whittaker and Israel Adesanya are slated to do battle. Should this fight go ahead, Ladd and Kunitskaya would add great depth to the card.
