Latifi vs Oezdemir Bout Cancelled

The Co-Main Event for UFC Stockholm has unfortunately been canceled this weekend due to an injury suffered by Ilir Latifi in training camp. The back injury was too much for him to fight with, leaving Dana and the UFC scrambling to find a new Co-Main. Unfortunately for Oezdemir, no replacement fighter is being sought and it is unclear how much he’ll be compensated.

The natural assumption would be that veteran Brit Jimi Manuwa against young gun Aleksandar Rakic becomes the new co-main. Either way, the main event between Gustafsson and Smith looks to be a very exciting bout that has become increasingly important.

Jessica Andrade Safe After Armed Robbery

The New UFC Strawweight champion has emerged unharmed from an armed robbery this past week. Andrade was threatened at gunpoint and ordered to hand over her cell phone. Her wife Fernanda Gomez went into chilling detail about their ordeal in a social media post earlier this week.

Unfortunately for Andrade, this event comes just weeks after the highlight of her athletic career, claiming the Strawweight title with an excellent display. With no apparent long-term damage, it looks like she’ll be ready to defend her title at the next opportunity.

Aubin Mercier to Fight at UFC 240

UFC 240 in Canada continues to strengthen, with the addition of fan favorite Olivier Aubin-Mercier, who will take on Arman Tsarukyan. The bout will take place at Lightweight, where the two fighters boast a combined 24-6 career MMA record. After a dominant start to his career, this will be the first time that Aubin-Mercier has to respond after a losing streak.

The 22-year-old Tsarukyan made his UFC debut just last month but flashed a ton of potential with his 12-fight win streak beforehand. This card is certainly beginning to take shape and looms as a very exciting watch on July 27.
